About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Government Rover in Miami, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols, maintain a visible presence to help discourage security-related incidents, and respond to reports and alarms with clear communication. You will document observations, assist staff and visitors with professional customer service, and support a team that is agile, reliable, innovative, and guided by integrity and a people-first culture.

Requirements

Possess a college degree.
Provide proof of a high school diploma and/or GED as required by the client.
Be at least 21 years of age.
Provide a DD214 with honorable discharge or an associates degree with 60 college credits or a police academy certificate or a corrections academy certificate.
An armed guard card and/or license is preferred.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, employees, and visitors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Conduct regular and random armed patrols of government facilities, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify security-related concerns.
Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting observations and notifying appropriate contacts.
Monitor access points and restricted areas, verify authorization for entry, and direct visitors and/or deliveries in accordance with site policies.
Complete required reports, logs, and incident documentation, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal management.
