As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, stay visible to help deter security-related incidents, and respond to situations with calm, clear communication and strong customer service. This role requires an armed guard card or license and offers a team-focused environment where we stay agile, reliable, and innovative, put people first, and act with integrity.

Requirements

  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma and/or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a DD214 with honorable discharge and/or an associate degree with 60 college credits and/or a police academy certificate and/or a corrections academy certificate.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Handcuffing certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or contractors at a government location by following site-specific security-related procedures, screening protocols, and post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unwanted activity, identify irregular conditions, and report concerns.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, taking appropriate action within scope and requesting assistance from supervisors, emergency services, and/or law enforcement when needed.
  • Control access to restricted areas by verifying identification, monitoring entry and exit points, and documenting authorized and unauthorized activity per site policy.
  • Complete detailed written reports and daily activity logs, preserve observations and relevant information, and communicate status updates to site leadership and Allied Universal management.
