As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government transportation location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to alarms and calls for service. You will document activity, communicate clearly with riders, staff, and law enforcement, and support a welcoming environment. Requirements

  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma and/or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • Baton permit is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to riders, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of stations, platforms, parking areas, and perimeter spaces to help to identify unusual activity, hazards, and policy violations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, directing people to appropriate resources, and requesting law enforcement and/or medical support as needed.
  • Perform armed post duties in accordance with Allied Universal and site policies, including maintaining required licensing and training, following weapon handling and storage requirements, and documenting all firearm-related activity per procedure.
  • Monitor access points and public areas, verify credentials as required, enforce posted rules, and complete detailed activity and incident reports using required systems and/or paperwork.
