About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Federal Patrol Driver in Miami, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal at a government location as an Armed Patrol Officer, where you will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to alarms and calls for service. You will document observations, support access control, and communicate clearly with staff and visitors. This is an armed post that requires a valid driver’s license, backed by a team that values agility, teamwork, and integrity.

Requirements

  • Have 3+ years combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience OR a college degree.
  • Be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
  • Have an Armed Guard Card and/or license.
  • Be at least 21+ years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Have a Corrections Officer license.
  • Have a DD214 with Honorable Discharge OR an Associates Degree or 60 college credits OR a Police Academy Certificate OR a Corrections Academy Certificate.
  • Have a Law Enforcement Officer license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to facility staff, visitors, and/or the public by carrying out post orders, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Perform armed patrol duties in accordance with licensing requirements, company policy, and site-specific procedures, helping to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas, checking doors, gates, and restricted areas and reporting irregularities through the established chain of command.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting security-related events, preserving scene integrity when needed, and coordinating with on-site leadership and/or law enforcement.
  • Operate access control points as assigned, verify identification and/or authorization, monitor alarms and security-related systems, and maintain accurate logs, reports, and shift turnover information.
