Requirements

  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • Two or more years of law enforcement, military, or corrections experience, or a college degree, is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or drivers by following site-specific access procedures and supporting security-related protocols at the location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and/or credentials, and document visitor, vendor, and/or vehicle activity in accordance with post orders.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or unusual activity in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate observations to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership as appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, including access points, parking areas, and other assigned areas where conditions may vary.
  • Help to deter unauthorized access and/or prohibited activity by maintaining awareness of surroundings, following reporting procedures, and supporting emergency response activities when appropriate.
