About The Position

As an Access Control Officer at a busy retail location, you will help manage entry points, greet employees and visitors, verify credentials, maintain visitor logs, and monitor cameras and alarms. You will conduct routine patrols and stay highly visible to help deter security-related incidents while delivering customer-focused communication. Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of security experience is required.
  • A minimum of 6 months of armed security and/or law enforcement and/or military experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service at a retail and/or mall location by following Allied Universal procedures, site-specific policies, and access control requirements.
  • Monitor entrances, employee areas, and delivery points; verify identification, credentials, and visitor purpose prior to granting access.
  • Manage visitor, vendor, and contractor check-in and check-out using site logs and/or electronic systems; issue and recover temporary access badges as directed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, fire alarms, and disruptive behavior; notify site leadership and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Observe and report unusual activity, policy violations, and hazards; support loss prevention efforts by documenting events and completing required reports.
