As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a cultural institution location, you will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to concerns with clear communication and customer service. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license, supporting mobile patrol coverage across assigned areas. You will bring integrity and teamwork to every interaction while using innovative, reliable approaches to daily operations.

Requirements

• An armed guard card or license is required.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients and visitors by following post orders, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a cultural institution setting.
• Conduct routine foot patrols of galleries, worship spaces, offices, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unauthorized access, theft, and property damage.
• Conduct random patrols at varied intervals and locations to help to deter suspicious activity and reduce predictable patterns.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and interior corridors, checking doors, gates, and restricted areas for signs of tampering and/or unauthorized entry.
• Support visitor and guest management by providing directions, answering questions, and assisting with orderly entry and exit during services, events, and peak visiting hours.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, medical situations, alarms, and facility issues, and request additional resources as needed.
• Observe and report unusual conditions, suspicious behavior, and/or hazards to the appropriate contacts per site procedures, maintaining situational awareness during patrols.
• Document patrol activity, incidents, and visitor interactions in written reports and/or electronic systems according to Allied Universal reporting requirements.
• Support access control by verifying credentials, monitoring authorized access lists, and challenging unknown persons in restricted areas per site policy.
• Operate and monitor site systems as assigned, which may include radios, telephones, and alarm panels, and communicate clearly with site staff and Allied Universal supervision.
• Assist with closing and opening procedures, including checking assigned areas, securing doors, and reporting maintenance concerns through proper channels.
• Maintain a professional presence and appearance while interacting respectfully with clergy, staff, volunteers, visitors, and contractors.
