About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Driver Patrol in New London, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal on an armed, driving patrol assignment at a government location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will respond to alarms and requests, document observations, and communicate clearly with site personnel and visitors. Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A valid firearms permit is preferred.
  • An armed guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by carrying out post orders, security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting appropriate personnel and documenting actions taken.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Control access by verifying identification, monitoring entry and exit points, and screening for prohibited items in accordance with site rules and Allied Universal guidelines.
  • Complete daily activity logs and incident reports, communicate observations to supervisors and/or client representatives, and operate security-related systems such as radios, cameras, and alarm panels.
