As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will drive and patrol assigned areas, perform routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will respond to calls for service, document activity, and communicate clearly with staff and the public while delivering a professional presence. Requirements

  • Proof of a high school diploma and/or GED is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • DD214 with Honorable Discharge OR Associates Degree and/or 60 College Credits OR Police Academy Certificate OR Corrections Academy Certificate is required.
  • A state, county, and/or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with site leadership and public agencies as directed by post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Control access at designated entry points by checking identification, verifying authorization, screening visitors, and maintaining visitor and vehicle logs in accordance with site requirements.
  • Complete detailed reports on incidents, patrol observations, and unusual activity, and communicate updates through radio and/or other approved systems per site procedures.
