About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Campus Patrol in North Charleston, SC , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal in an educational setting, you will be responsible for conducting routine armed patrols across the campus, maintaining a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and providing outstanding customer service to students, staff, and visitors. Requirements

Possess an Armed Guard Card or License.
Be at least 21 years of age.
Provide one of the following: DD214 with Honorable Discharge, or an Associate's Degree or 60 college credits, or a Police Academy Certificate, or a Corrections Academy Certificate.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and responding to emergencies as needed.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, supporting a positive environment at the location.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the educational facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
Monitor entrances, exits, and key areas to help to deter unauthorized access and maintain awareness of the surroundings.
Assist students, staff, and visitors with security-related inquiries and provide guidance as appropriate.
Document incidents, observations, and actions taken during assigned shifts according to Allied Universal and client protocols.
Coordinate with local law enforcement and/or emergency services when required.
Maintain a visible and approachable presence to help to deter disruptive behavior and promote a secure environment within the educational setting.
