As an unarmed patrol officer at a residential location, you will conduct routine rounds, stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and support residents and visitors with a friendly, service-minded approach. You will monitor activity, respond to concerns, and communicate clearly with your team while documenting observations. Requirements

  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, guests, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, suspicious activity, noise complaints, medical calls, and maintenance-related concerns, and notify site management and/or emergency services as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of residential buildings, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify hazards or maintenance issues.
  • Monitor and document access through entrances, lobbies, and garage points as assigned, verifying credentials and directing visitors to appropriate locations per site procedures.
  • Complete detailed written reports of daily activity, patrol observations, incidents, and policy violations using approved report formats and/or electronic systems.
  • Perform access control and key or credential management tasks as assigned, including logging key issuance and tracking lost or found property according to site procedures.
  • Observe and report suspicious behavior, unsecured doors, malfunctioning equipment, and other irregular conditions, and communicate findings to site management and/or Allied Universal supervision.
  • Assist with resident and guest inquiries, provide directions, and support a professional presence while following site-specific customer service expectations.
  • Support emergency response activities such as evacuations, fire alarms, elevator entrapments, and severe weather procedures as directed by post orders and/or local authorities.
  • Work with property staff, local law enforcement, and/or emergency responders as needed, maintaining clear communication and following chain-of-command expectations.
