As an unarmed Patrol Officer at an education location, you will monitor assigned areas through routine foot and/or vehicle patrols, maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents, and support access control and badge processes. You will communicate clearly with students, staff, and visitors, respond to calls for assistance, and document observations. At Allied Universal, you will act with integrity, work as one team, and bring an agile, reliable, innovative approach every shift.
Requirements
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
- A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access guidelines, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout campus buildings, residence areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation, contacting campus resources and/or public responders, and supporting incident documentation.
- Monitor and report suspicious behavior, hazards, and/or maintenance concerns; communicate observations promptly to Allied Universal supervision and site leadership.
- Complete detailed daily activity reports, incident reports, and shift logs; follow post orders and participate in briefings and/or training as required.
