Job Description As a Security Officer - Aero/Defense Access Control in Norfolk, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Aero/Defense, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated areas within an aerospace and defense location, helping to deter security-related incidents while maintaining a strong presence. You will interact with personnel and visitors, provide outstanding customer service, and uphold our values of teamwork, integrity, and a people-first approach. Requirements

  • A guard card or security license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Monitor and control access to restricted areas, verifying credentials and permissions in accordance with site protocols.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating issues as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and report unusual activity.
  • Observe and report any irregularities, such as security breaches, facility hazards, or emergency situations, following established protocols.
  • Collaborate with site personnel and Allied Universal team members to maintain a secure environment at the location.
  • Maintain accurate records and logs of daily activities, incidents, and access control measures.
