About The Position

As a Security Officer - Telecom Access Screener in Manassas, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Screener in a dynamic technology-focused location, you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, and interact with visitors to help to deter security-related incidents. Your role involves conducting access control duties and providing outstanding customer service while maintaining a visible presence. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and screen all individuals entering the location to help to deter unauthorized access and/or prohibited items.
  • Follow established site-specific policies and procedures for screening personnel, visitors, and/or contractors.
  • Operate screening equipment, such as metal detectors and/or X-ray machines, as required by site protocols.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating issues to appropriate personnel as needed.
  • Document and report all screening activities, incidents, and/or irregularities according to Allied Universal and client procedures.
  • Provide customer service to all individuals at the location, answering questions and assisting with directions as needed.
  • Collaborate with team members and site management to support security-related operations and emergency response activities.
  • Remain alert and attentive to surroundings, reporting any suspicious behavior or items to the appropriate authorities.
