Job Description As a Security Officer - Security Screener in Lake City, FL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. As a Screener with Allied Universal at a correctional location, you will help support a controlled environment by screening staff, contractors, and visitors, checking identification, and monitoring entry points. You will conduct routine patrols of assigned areas, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and document observations and incidents with clear communication. Bring a customer service mindset, sound judgment, and integrity as part of a reliable team.

Requirements

• Have 1+ years of security-related experience.
• A guard card and/or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by following site-specific security-related screening procedures, access control policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a controlled facility location.
• Screen employees, visitors, vendors, and deliveries using approved methods and equipment to help identify prohibited items and/or unauthorized materials.
• Verify identification, visitor authorizations, and property documentation, and maintain accurate logs and reports in accordance with post orders.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, communicating with site staff and/or emergency services as directed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around assigned areas and perimeter as required by the post assignment, noting and reporting unusual activity and/or conditions.
