As an Access Control Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will help manage site entry points, verify credentials, screen visitors and drivers, and document arrivals, departures, and incidents. You will remain highly visible, conduct routine patrols of assigned areas, and communicate clearly with operations teams to support smooth, security-related workflows. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, drivers, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Control access at entry and exit points by verifying identification, issuing badges and/or passes, managing visitor logs, and directing foot and vehicle traffic to help to deter unauthorized access.
  • Process inbound and outbound trucks and deliveries by checking appointments and documentation, coordinating with warehouse operations, and documenting exceptions according to post orders.
  • Monitor access control systems, cameras, radios, and alarms as assigned, and complete accurate reports for routine activity, irregular conditions, and policy violations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating to site leadership and/or public responders as needed and documenting actions taken.
