About The Position

As a Security Officer Access Point Associate in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. Requirements

Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
Be at least 21 years of age.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Access control and badge experience is preferred.
Alarm panel experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a chemical processing location.
Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and/or visitor authorization, and document arrivals, departures, deliveries, and other access-related activity according to post orders.
Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns and communicating with site contacts as needed.
Conduct regular and random patrols around buildings, gate areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
Support security-related operations by following hazardous location protocols, maintaining accurate logs and reports, and providing clear directions to staff, guests, and transport personnel.
