About The Position

As a Security Officer Access Point Associate in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a chemical processing location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and/or visitor authorization, and document arrivals, departures, deliveries, and other access-related activity according to post orders.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns and communicating with site contacts as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around buildings, gate areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Support security-related operations by following hazardous location protocols, maintaining accurate logs and reports, and providing clear directions to staff, guests, and transport personnel.
