As an Access Control Officer in a healthcare location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, greet patients, visitors, and staff, and support orderly visitor flow while staying alert to security-related concerns. You will conduct routine patrols of assigned areas, document activity, and communicate clearly with onsite teams. This is a driving post. Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of security experience is required.
  • Proof of a high school diploma and/or GED is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by following site-specific access procedures, visitor management processes, and security-related protocols, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access at designated entry points by checking identification, issuing visitor credentials, directing arrivals to the proper location, and/or maintaining sign-in logs in accordance with facility requirements.
  • Monitor assigned areas and access points using observation and available systems, report unusual activity, and help to deter unauthorized entry and/or prohibited items.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site leadership, clinical staff, and/or first responders as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around entrances, corridors, and the perimeter, noting hazards or maintenance concerns and documenting findings per post orders.
