As an Access Control Officer at a busy retail distribution location, you will help manage entry and exit points, greet associates and visitors, verify credentials, and document activity with clear communication. You will conduct routine patrols and remain visible to help to deter security-related incidents while delivering customer-focused service. This is a driving post, requiring a valid driver’s license per Allied Universal policies, and you will support a caring, agile, reliable, and integrity-driven team.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, employees, contractors, and visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail distribution location.
  • Control access at entrances and dock areas by verifying identification and/or credentials, managing visitor and contractor sign-in, and maintaining access logs as required by post orders.
  • Monitor and respond to alarms, door alerts, and radio calls, and respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while coordinating notifications per site procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas including parking areas, perimeter points, and loading zones to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity.
  • Complete required reports and documentation such as incident reports, shift activity logs, and access records, and communicate notable observations to site leadership as needed.
