As a driving post with Allied Universal at a utilities location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and remain visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will support access points, respond to concerns, document activity, and provide strong customer service and communication with site teams and visitors. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting actions taken and notifying site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location, including buildings, yards, and perimeter areas. Working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Monitor and acknowledge alarms and security-related systems, escalating maintenance concerns and/or unusual activity through established reporting channels.
  • Control access for employees, contractors, and visitors by verifying authorization, issuing temporary credentials when directed, and coordinating escorts for restricted utility-related areas.
