As a Security Officer Access Control in Carlsbad, NM, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a leading chemical and petrochemical location, you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, and support site access procedures while providing outstanding customer service and communication. You will remain visible, complete routine patrols, and help to deter security-related incidents. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and contractors by following site-specific access control procedures, verifying credentials, managing entry and exit activity, and supporting security-related protocols at the location.
  • Monitor gates, lobbies, checkpoints, and other controlled access areas to help regulate site access, document visitor and vehicle information, and report unusual activity or policy concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with emergency response activities, communications, and security-related documentation as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, observing for unauthorized access, equipment concerns, and other unusual conditions that may require follow-up.
  • Support daily operations by maintaining accurate logs, completing required reports, communicating clearly with site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership, and following post orders for a chemical and petrochemical environment.
