As a Security Officer Access Control in Troy, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial. This role involves monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, supporting access control activities, and helping to deter security-related incidents through a visible presence. The position offers the chance to deliver outstanding customer service, communicate clearly with employees and visitors, and work with an agile, reliable, innovative team that puts people first and acts with integrity.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access control activities, and appropriate emergency response actions at a manufacturing and industrial location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns according to site protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout production areas, loading docks, parking areas, warehouses, and the exterior perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or unusual conditions.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and/or visitor information, and help to support authorized access for personnel, deliveries, and vendors.
  • Communicate with site contacts and Allied Universal leadership regarding incidents, maintenance issues, and/or operational disruptions that may affect daily site operations.
