About The Position

As a Security Officer - Access Control in Los Angeles, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Hotels & Resorts, and more. At a premier hotel and resort location, you will be the welcoming first point of contact at the front desk, supporting security-related operations through access control, visitor check-in, badge management, and steady observation of lobby activity. You will communicate clearly with guests, staff, and responders, write accurate reports, and help identify concerns early. Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Client requires proof of a high school diploma and/or GED.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to guests, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a hotel front desk location.
  • Control access through the main lobby and front desk area by greeting entrants, verifying identification and/or credentials as required, issuing visitor information as directed, and helping to deter unauthorized entry.
  • Monitor security-related systems such as cameras, alarms, and communications equipment; identify unusual activity and report concerns to hotel management and/or Allied Universal leadership.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including guest disturbances, medical calls, and fire or weather events, and coordinate with first responders as needed.
  • Complete shift logs and incident reports with clear, accurate details; communicate status updates and post instructions during shift turnover to support consistent front desk operations.
