Job Description As a Security Officer - Access Control in Flat Rock, MI , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed, driving patrol officer supporting a dynamic tech, media, and telecom location. You will complete routine patrols across assigned areas, stay visible to help reduce security-related issues, and assist with access control and visitor flow as needed. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being on the move, communicating clearly, and delivering a welcoming customer service experience while working with a team that acts with integrity.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by following Allied Universal post orders, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response procedures as required.
  • Respond to alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting actions taken and escalating concerns per site protocol.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of offices, common areas, loading and service areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify security-related hazards.
  • Control access by monitoring entry points, verifying identification and/or authorization, issuing visitor directions, and reporting unauthorized access attempts.
  • Complete required reports such as shift activity logs, incident reports, and patrol documentation, and communicate updates to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
