As an Access Control Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will help manage entry and exit points, check IDs and/or credentials, verify visitor and delivery activity, and keep clear, accurate logs. You will stay visible, conduct routine patrols around assigned areas, and communicate quickly with onsite teams about security-related concerns. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, drivers, and visitors by following site-specific access control procedures and directing individuals to the appropriate check-in areas.
- Control entry and exit at gates and/or lobbies by verifying identification, maintaining visitor and vehicle logs, and issuing temporary credentials per post orders.
- Monitor truck yard and dock activity using assigned tools such as cameras, radios, and/or access control systems, and report irregular conditions according to procedures.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying site leadership and emergency services as directed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and to identify security-related concerns.
