Security Officer - Access Control
About The Position
As a Security Officer Access Control in Detroit, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join Allied Universal in a dynamic logistics and distribution location as a driving Access Control Officer. In this role, you will monitor entry points, verify badges and visitor access, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents. You will deliver outstanding customer service and communication while supporting daily operations with agility, reliability, teamwork, innovation, and integrity.
Requirements
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- X-ray screening experience is preferred.
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- Loss prevention experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, drivers, and/or employees by following site-specific access control procedures, verifying credentials, and documenting entry and exit activity at the location.
- Respond to incidents, alarm activity, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, communicating with site contacts and emergency services when appropriate.
- Monitor entry points, gates, trailer yards, and/or shipping and receiving areas to help support authorized access and report unusual activity, policy violations, or security-related concerns.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the business, warehouse, loading areas, and perimeter, with attention to varying conditions across the location.
- Complete required reports, logs, and/or incident documentation related to access control activities, visitor management, vehicle checks, and other security-related procedures.
