As a Security Officer Entry Screening in Council Bluffs, IA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Food/Beverage, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Access Control Officer at a dynamic food and beverage location, where you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, and help support a professional, welcoming environment. This role includes routine patrols, maintaining a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, and delivering strong communication and customer service. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to all persons at the location by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities.
  • Monitor and control access at entry and exit points by verifying credentials, screening visitors and/or vendors, and documenting arrivals, departures, and deliveries in accordance with site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate relevant information to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location, including access points, production-adjacent areas, and perimeter zones, as assigned by site needs.
  • Help to deter unauthorized entry and policy violations by maintaining an attentive presence, observing site activity, and reporting unusual conditions or concerns.
