About The Position

As a Security Officer - Access Control in New Haven, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Allied Universal Access Control Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will greet team members and visitors, verify credentials, manage entry points, and document security-related activity. You will stay highly visible, conduct routine rounds near access areas, and communicate clearly to help to deter incidents while delivering outstanding customer service. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to Allied Universal clients at a logistics and distribution location by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access at entry points by verifying identification, checking credentials, issuing visitor and/or contractor badges, and maintaining visitor, vendor, and delivery logs.
  • Screen inbound and outbound traffic by confirming appointments and documentation for drivers, trailers, and shipments, and coordinating entry instructions with site contacts.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting events and communicating updates to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of entrances, yard areas, docks, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity.
