About The Position

As a Security Officer - Baggage X-Ray Screening in Indianapolis, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As a Screener with Allied Universal at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will help support a controlled environment by monitoring assigned areas, completing screening activities, and performing routine patrols. You will stay highly visible, document security-related observations, and communicate clearly with team members and site leadership. Guided by our agile, reliable, and innovative culture, you will deliver through teamwork and act with integrity while providing a welcoming, customer-focused presence.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related screening procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a high-volume logistics and distribution location.
  • Screen employees, visitors, and vendors at access points using approved methods such as ID verification, bag and package screening, and walkthrough metal detection and/or handheld screening as required by post orders.
  • Monitor entry and exit activity, maintain screening logs and visitor records, and report unauthorized access attempts and/or policy violations to site leadership.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications, documenting events, and assisting with scene control until additional support arrives.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around screening areas, loading and unloading zones, and the building perimeter as directed by post orders. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
