Security Officer - Access Control
About The Position
As a Security Officer Admission Control in Joliet, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal at a dynamic retail location where you will monitor entry points, manage access, and help support a welcoming environment for shoppers, guests, and staff. In this access control role, you will conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and deliver strong customer service and communication. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, customers, and/or staff by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail location.
- Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and/or authorization as required, and help to deter unauthorized access to restricted or employee-only areas.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the store, common areas, and perimeter, paying attention to security-related concerns, unusual activity, and/or policy violations.
- Support closing and opening activities by observing access points, monitoring traffic flow, and reporting maintenance, lighting, and/or other conditions that could impact security-related operations.
