Job Description As a Security Officer - Access Control in San Diego, CA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Financial Institutions, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a financial services location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, issue and track badges, and support visitor check-in while monitoring cameras and conducting routine patrols. You will stay highly visible, document security-related activity, and communicate clearly with staff and guests. Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer and/or tablet, preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a financial services location.
  • Control access to the facility by verifying identification, managing visitor check-in and/or badging, and directing guests, contractors, and deliveries according to post orders.
  • Monitor entry points, alarms, and surveillance systems as assigned, and document access activity and unusual conditions in required logs and reports.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications and supporting arriving responders per site procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify maintenance and security-related concerns.
