About The Position

As a Security Officer - Access Control in York, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Distribution Centers, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed access control officer at a Distribution Center, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. This position requires driving as part of your daily responsibilities therefore, a valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements. You will greet customers and associates, communicate clearly, and document observations while supporting a positive experience on site. Requirements

  • Be 21 years of age or older.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Have 1+ years of security experience or the equivalent.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Loss prevention experience.
  • X-Ray screening experience.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site associates, vendors, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and notify site leadership and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the Distribution Center, loading and receiving areas, parking areas, and the perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Monitor access points and help manage visitor and delivery check-in by verifying identification, directing traffic flow, and documenting entries and exits per site procedures.
  • Complete security-related reports and activity logs, observe and report unusual conditions, and communicate updates to supervisors and/or site contacts.
