Job Description As a Security Officer - Access Control Lobby in Colonial Heights, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal, you will help to deter security-related incidents by monitoring entrances and exits at the location, conducting routine patrols, and maintaining a visible presence. You will provide exceptional customer service while upholding our values of teamwork, integrity, and putting people first. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a secure environment while building positive interactions with those on site.

Requirements

  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Monitor and control access points to help to deter unauthorized entry and maintain a secure environment.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, reporting any suspicious activity or security-related concerns.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of access control activities, incidents, and observations during each shift.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, visitors, and team members to support a positive atmosphere and address security-related questions or concerns.
