As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal, you will be integral in maintaining a secure environment within a government location. Your primary responsibilities will involve monitoring entry points, verifying credentials, and conducting regular patrols to help to deter security-related incidents. You will also deliver outstanding customer service and clear communication while remaining visible and approachable. Requirements

  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control access to government facilities, verifying identification and credentials in accordance with site-specific policies.
  • Provide customer service by assisting employees and visitors with directions, information, and security-related procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the government property and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and observe for unusual activity.
  • Document and report security-related incidents and observations to Allied Universal management and/or client representatives.
  • Support emergency response activities, including assisting with evacuations and coordinating with first responders as required.
  • Maintain a visible presence at access points to help to deter potential security-related threats and provide reassurance to staff and visitors.
