As a Security Officer specializing in access control within a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help maintain a secure environment. Your presence will help to deter security-related incidents, and you will be responsible for checking credentials and controlling entry points. Requirements

At least one year of security-related experience is required.
A guard card or license is preferred.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies at a government location, including assisting visitors and employees with access-related inquiries.
Monitor and control entry and exit points to help to deter unauthorized access and verify that only authorized individuals gain entry to restricted areas.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols for emergencies and unusual occurrences.
Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and its perimeter to help to deter suspicious activity and verify that access control measures are functioning as intended.
Prepare and submit detailed reports of access control activities, incidents, and observations to Allied Universal management as required.
Collaborate with law enforcement, emergency services, and/or site management when necessary to address access-related concerns or incidents.
Remain alert to potential security-related risks and provide a visible presence to help to deter unwanted activity.
