Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, students, faculty, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies at the education location.
  • Monitor access points, verify credentials, and control entry and exit to help to deter unauthorized access to campus buildings and restricted areas.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating issues as appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around campus grounds and building perimeters to help to deter security-related incidents.
  • Document and report security-related incidents, observations, and activities according to site procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with campus staff and/or law enforcement as needed during emergencies or incidents.
  • Remain alert and attentive to surroundings to help to deter and report suspicious activities or persons on campus.
