About The Position

As a Security Officer - Access Control Driver in El Paso, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a utilities location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, issue and track badges, and document activity while maintaining a professional, customer-focused presence. You will complete routine rounds and respond to security-related concerns with clear communication and integrity, supported by Allied Universal’s caring, team-driven culture. This is a driving post, so a valid driver’s license is required.

Requirements

  • Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utilities location.
  • Control access at gates, lobbies, and/or other entry points by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, managing sign-in logs, and directing visitors, vendors, and contractors to appropriate areas.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and/or access control systems; report irregular activity and maintenance concerns per site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting events and notifying appropriate site contacts and/or emergency services as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas, including checking doors, restricted spaces, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized access and/or policy violations.
