About The Position

As a Security Officer - Access Control Driver in Pennington, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. Join Allied Universal at a fast-paced manufacturing location where you will help manage access control by verifying badges, screening visitors and/or deliveries, documenting activity, and performing routine patrols to support a secure environment. You will stay visible, communicate clearly with employees and guests, and respond to security-related concerns with professionalism and integrity. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license under AU Driver Policy Requirements.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Control access at entrances and gates by verifying identification and authorization, issuing badges or passes, managing visitor check-in and check-out, and maintaining access logs.
  • Monitor inbound and outbound vehicle and foot traffic, coordinate with site personnel for deliveries and contractors, and report irregularities per site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications and documenting events according to post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around buildings, production areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify hazards and maintenance concerns.
