About The Position

As a Security Officer - Access Control Driver Post in Columbia, SC , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal at a government location where you will support access control and daily operations through security-related screening, badge checks, visitor verification, and routine patrols of assigned areas. You will stay visible to help reduce incidents, document activity, and communicate clearly with staff and guests while delivering customer service with integrity and teamwork. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license in the job state.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • COLA: DPSS/DHS – Tuberculosis test/MMR vaccinations.
  • Security Experience ‐ 6+ Months.
  • 21+ Years of Age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and vendors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and access control requirements at a government location.
  • Control entry and exit points by verifying identification, issuing and collecting visitor credentials, maintaining entry logs, and coordinating with site staff for approvals and/or escort requirements.
  • Monitor for prohibited items and unusual activity at checkpoints using authorized screening practices, and report concerns per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating emergency response activities and notifying site leadership and/or public responders as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including building interior and perimeter, and complete required reports and documentation per site procedures.
