About The Position

As a Security Officer - Access Control Desk in Rochester, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Aero/Defense, and more. Join Allied Universal at a high-tech aerospace and defense location where you will help manage access control, verify credentials, issue badges, and monitor entry points using computer-based systems. You will complete routine patrols, remain visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and deliver professional customer service and clear communication to employees and visitors. Requirements

  • Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at an aerospace and defense location.
  • Control access at designated entry points by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, managing entry and exit logs, and directing deliveries to appropriate screening and/or receiving areas.
  • Monitor access control systems and security-related alarms, report irregular activity, and document events in accordance with site requirements.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating notifications and/or assistance as directed by post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including interior spaces and perimeter routes, to help to deter unauthorized access and report maintenance and/or security-related concerns.
