About The Position

As a Security Officer Access Control Coordinator in Sparrows Point, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Access Control Officer at a busy manufacturing and industrial location, helping to monitor entry points, verify credentials, and support a secure environment for employees, visitors, and deliveries. In this role, you will remain visible, communicate clearly, and provide outstanding customer service while bringing a reliable, agile, innovative approach and acting with integrity through teamwork.

Requirements

  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at an industrial location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and permissions, and document visitor, contractor, and delivery activity in accordance with site protocols.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns to the appropriate personnel when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, operational areas, and the perimeter to help support security-related awareness and report unusual activity.
  • Communicate with site contacts, drivers, and team members regarding access requests, restricted areas, and/or security-related concerns while maintaining detailed daily activity logs.
