As a Security Officer in an education location, you will play a key role in access control, monitoring and patrolling designated areas to help deter security-related incidents. Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.
Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as required.
Monitor and control access to designated areas within the location, verifying credentials and permissions as appropriate.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
Document and report security-related incidents, observations, and/or unusual activity to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
Assist visitors, students, and staff with directions and general inquiries, maintaining a professional presence at all times.
Work closely with Allied Universal management and local contacts to support security-related operations specific to the education environment.
