About The Position

As a Security Officer - Access Control Booth in York, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing and Distribution sites, and more. As an Allied Universal Security Officer in at a Manufacturing and Distribution site, you will support access control by welcoming visitors, verifying credentials, issuing badges, monitoring entry points, and responding to alarms and other security-related concerns. You will complete routine patrols and document activity using site systems, helping maintain an inviting atmosphere. Bring strong customer service and clear communication while working with a team that values integrity, agility, reliability, and innovation.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and contractors by following site-specific access control procedures and security-related policies, and/or supporting emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Control entry and exit points by checking credentials, issuing visitor passes, maintaining sign-in and sign-out logs, and directing guests to approved locations within the facility.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and access control systems, and report irregular activity or equipment issues according to post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, completing required notifications and incident documentation.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout exhibit areas, administrative spaces, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and/or policy violations.
