Job Description As a Security Officer - Academic Building Patrol in Huntington Park, CA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal at an education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help deter security-related incidents and maintain a welcoming environment. Your presence and communication skills will help foster a sense of comfort for all visitors and staff. Position Type: Full Time Pay Rate: $18.00 / Hour Job Schedule: Day Time Mon 07:45 AM - 04:00 PM Tue 07:45 AM - 04:00 PM Wed 07:45 AM - 04:00 PM Thur 07:45 AM - 04:00 PM Fri 08:00 AM - 05:00 PM

Requirements

A guard card or license is preferred.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, as well as responding to emergency situations when appropriate.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to support the needs of the location.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential issues.
Maintain awareness of surroundings within the educational environment and communicate any concerns or observations to the appropriate personnel.
Support Allied Universal and the client by following all established protocols and maintaining a professional presence at the location.
