About The Position

We are seeking an experienced, proactive, and mission-driven Security Manager to lead and strengthen the safety and security operations at Home of the Innocents. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, sound judgment, and a deep commitment to maintaining a secure environment for our service recipients, team members, and visitors. A Day in the Life As the Security Manager, you will guide all aspects of our security program—from team leadership to facility risk prevention. Each day, you will oversee the Safety & Security Department, support our Fleet Management program, and ensure our campus remains a safe, trauma-informed environment. You will lead a team of security officers, and take ownership of systems, procedures, and emergency responses that protect everyone who enters our campus. Your leadership will create a culture of vigilance, professionalism, and compassion that strengthens the safety and well-being of the children, families, and staff we serve.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Proven security management experience, ideally in healthcare or behavioral health settings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Capacity to lead and develop a team within a trauma-informed, mission-focused environment.
  • Ability to move intermittently throughout the workday.
  • Sufficient hearing and vision (with or without assistive devices) to meet job requirements.
  • Ability to work independently with flexibility and integrity.
  • Ability to push, pull, move, and/or lift at least 40 pounds to a height of three feet and carry it at least six feet.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and regularly update security procedures to meet the unique needs of our facility.
  • Supervise all security guards, including full performance management: training, evaluations, development plans, and corrective action as needed.
  • Manage all access control, including keys, electronic systems, and visitor check-in protocols.
  • Serve as primary contact for security-related incidents and coordinate with local authorities when appropriate.
  • Oversee operation and maintenance of security cameras and surveillance systems.
  • Conduct regular facility security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and implement strategies to protect service recipients, staff, and organizational assets.
  • Prepare and manage the departmental budget, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality security solutions.
  • Provide security awareness training to team members, service recipients, contractors, and volunteers.
  • Prepare routine security reports for senior leadership, including incident trends and budget updates.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with departments across the organization, contractors and vendor.
