Requirements

• Security guard license and training is mandatory
• Must have full fingerprinting clearance
• Good physical strength and agility
• Candidate must take and pass the Glen Cove Civil Service Security Guard Examination when first offered and qualify for placement on the List of Eligible

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety of persons using the premises, as required
• Provide a safe environment for students and staff
• Assist in maintaining the orderly conduct of people in and around the facility
• Act quickly and efficiently in emergency situations
• Learn and enforce security procedures and regulations; learn the layout of the areas to be guarded
• Deal effectively with the public and to be courteous
• Understand and carry out oral and written directions
• Other duties as required
