About The Position

Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry. Obtains help by sounding alarms. Guards industrial or commercial property against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry by performing the following duties.

Requirements

• Ability to prepare and report finding and incidents.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 1 year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property.
• Watches for and reports irregularities such as fire hazards, gates left open or unlocked.
• Using all available electronic technology and surveillance equipment, observe and maintain security of company property and assets.
• Observes departing personnel to guard against theft of company property.
• Sounds alarm or calls police or fire department by telephone in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
• Completes reports by recording observations, information, and surveillance activities such as property damage and unusual occurrences, for regular reporting to assigned company management.
• Regulates vehicle and pedestrian traffic at plant entrance to maintain orderly flow where applicable.
