About The Position

At Sibanye-Stillwater, every role supports our mission to operate safely, responsibly, and sustainably. We are seeking a Security Officer to support the safety and security of our refinery facility through active monitoring, access control, surveillance systems, and incident response. This role focuses on maintaining a secure environment through facility patrols, visitor management, and monitoring security systems while ensuring compliance with company security protocols and regulatory requirements. Job Purpose To maintain a safe and secure facility through active patrol, strict access control, monitoring surveillance systems, verifying visitors, and responding to security incidents.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required
Ability to function effectively as part of a team
Strong communication and observation skills
Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Word and Excel
Must meet ITAR and NAID requirements
Ability to pass background and credit check
Ability to pass drug screening and physical examination
Ability to stand or walk for extended periods during a shift
Ability to bend, search persons and packages, and lift up to 50 lbs when required

Nice To Haves

Prior military or law enforcement experience preferred

Responsibilities

Monitor and operate facility security and surveillance systems
Conduct active patrols and building inspections
Maintain strict access control at facility entry points
Monitor video surveillance and recording systems
Operate security equipment including metal detectors, handheld scanners, and X-ray machines
Respond to alarms including fire and burglar systems
Support visitor access control and escort visitors when required
Communicate using telephone and two way radio systems
Prepare written incident reports and maintain security documentation
Support security operations that ensure safe facility access and operations
