About The Position

As a Security Guard - Unarmed Route Patrol in Long Island City, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer at a residential location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents. You will document observations, respond to concerns, and communicate clearly with residents, staff, and visitors while delivering helpful customer service. Requirements

  • A New York State Security Guard License is required.
  • A minimum of 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • X-Ray screening experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, guests, and/or staff by following site-specific procedures, access control expectations, and security-related protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout residential buildings, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations; document observations and report concerns.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or resident concerns in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating to site leadership and/or emergency services as appropriate.
  • Monitor entry points and community activity for unusual conditions that may help to deter unauthorized access, trespassing, and/or property damage; address issues within post guidelines.
  • Complete detailed reports, patrol logs, and incident documentation; communicate status updates to supervisors and/or oncoming officers during shift transitions.
