About The Position

As a Security Guard - Unarmed Perimeter Walks in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a leading cultural institution, you will monitor and patrol performance and public areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will greet guests and staff with professionalism, communicate clearly, and document observations using computer and/or tablet tools. Requirements

  • Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to guests, staff, and vendors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a cultural venue.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical situations, disturbances, lost and found concerns, and/or access issues.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior public areas, back-of-house corridors, and the exterior perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor entry points and restricted areas, verify credentials as required, and assist with visitor flow and/or queue management during performances and special events.
  • Document security-related observations, incidents, and patrol activity in reports, and communicate relevant information to site management and/or local responders as needed.
